Twenty First Century Money Making
America as well as most of the rest of the world has been finding money making difficult but is hopefully in the process of recovering from an economic catastrophe from a couple of years ago. It has affected people in various ways but very few actually benefited from it.
The more normal was that people suddenly found themselves out of work and were desperate for money making ways to feed their families. A challenge that people faced was that they did not really have the knowledge to do any job other than the one they had been doing for many years. It is not easy to make change.
They had to though or they would have been homeless or lose their families.
Let us take a look at some ways that people adapted or are going to have to soon in the new financial climate. One option is that can start to do internet marketing where, with the advancement of the web, business can be carried on in most countries from the comfort of your own home.
Others turned to MLM (multi level marketing) which can offer fantastic rewards when you have the right personality and you can still be a part of a team as in the previous job.
People are often searching the internet for information on money making. Hence there is an enormous opportunity to sell that to them.
Musicians are now making more money from their online activities than from their cds.
It is probably not a good idea, however, to try to feed your family by money making from internet marketing from day one. You need to work out your needs and find some work to create that for you. Then you will be in a good position to build up your on-line business gradually ready for the next time that there is a crash.
It is no good approaching it from a purely monetary viewpoint. People make millions but only by helping others. Maybe helping them to find the information they are looking for or assist them in finding them the cheapest place to buy the goods they want. Twenty first century money making will be more about working together in this way but at the same time finding a unique selling point for yourself.
It might even be possible that women can adapt to this exercise better than men as they generally are happier with the social aspect of communication. It can be an ideal situation for a woman who is caring for her children or even her parents. There will be a certain amount of time available to build up the internet business as a part time business.
It is no longer a world where the man is responsible for the money making for the family, for some time women have been doing that as well, I can see that only increasing in the new market economy.

I completely agree with your point though that very often women can excel in a business that requires a degree of excellent communication skills and sharing a sense of community. So certainly internet marketing and network marketing are two areas where women can do very well. I am glad you cautioned people against just jumping in both feet first to ‘make money’. To really succeed at anything you need to understand and work with your Passion and your Purpose.

this is a very good post. It is very sad that things are like this nowadays. Instead that everything gets better and better how the world is developing, we are starting to go backwards, and all this is happening because of the world crisis. I agree that it is not so pretty that we have to do searches over the internet to discover how to make more money for our needs. Unfortunately, looks like this is going to be like this for long time.

Of course everybody is trying to make money every single way he can. The question is to find appropriate field and to make reasonable, but at the same time a bit risky investments. And of course, you must be damn good Manager!!

Anna, if you have plenty of time or plenty of money you can afford to be a bit risky for sure. For others though safety is a major factor.
I appreciate your no nonsense advice about making money instantly by marketing online. It does take some time. it makes sense to get a job doing ANYTHING so that you’re not operating in panic mode when starting your online business.
People who are operating in desperation/panic mode when marketing online typically end up making big mistakes that cost them a lot of money. They think that “throwing money” at their problem will help. It doesn’t . An online business is a VERY real possibility for people in this down economy, but people need to be realistic about the potential results. “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and your business won’t be either.
One more thing- you don’t have to sell other people’s stuff to make money online. The information industry is BOOMING. If you’ve got a skillset that others want (knitting, cooking, golfing, etc.) you can create and sell your own “how to” product!

I’m sure you are right Natasha. Most prople don’ grow up wanting to be an internet marketer, it is something that we look at when we are desperate. For some people that is the motivation they need and they are very successful, for others that desperation make rash decisions, find they don’t work and then give up.
Great advice Trevor. I definitely with your advice about approaching the development of an online business with realistic expectations. It takes a lot of work, time and dedication before you get to the point of earning real money. After the economy, a lot of people point to scams as being the primary reason people are hesitant to buy, but I believe it’s a bigger issue than that. So many people have purchased sub-standard products because of flashy sales pitches they are now hesitant to buy anything. I will admit I’ve fallen more than a few of those pitches and it burns me every time because I can’t help but think how that junk makes it that much harder for those of use working our butts off to create really quality products.

Thanks Trevor it is indeed a whole new world out there than before 2008! This change has actually been quietly happening for longer than that but most didn’t pay attention to the signs. In fact the majority are still thinking that having a job is going to be their answer. All we can do is be the people that can guide them to the promised land!

Great post. People everywhere are looking for ways to increase income. Online ways to make money are great for supplemental income and can grow to full time income if people stick with it and keep growing. That’s how I got started over 14 years ago.

It’s been a while since your last post. How are you? Anyways, i must say that i think it’s a global issue with regard to money making. I guess we can say that Americans have a hard time facing the economic situation since they are used of having a stable and booming economy. Nowadays, people are striving to find ways to earn money through the internet since you can reach out to a lot of people compared to doing it locally.
Brian, I’ve been busy working as usual. We used to shop in a local corner shop on our high street, then the supermarkets moved out of town so we shopped there, now we shop anywhere in the world via the internet. The local aspect has certainly gone.
Nowadays,we’re having a hard time in making money and we really work hard for the money.Anyways,thank you for sharing this post.

What many people don’t understand is that building up significant income streams takes work and time and the application of success principles.
Most people stop just short of creating what it is they desire.
